SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING PROGRAM

Most of the time, students go to school with empty stomach, have insufficient food allowance. In the report made about the body mass index of the students, 47 students were found to have below normal BMI. The nutritional status of these students was “wasted” and “severely wasted,” meaning they had an inadequate intake of the necessary food nutrients. The school is taking its initiative to work on this problem of students coming to school on an empty stomach and of students with limited resources by means of promoting the health and nutritional status of the students through feeding programs. This program was launched last November 17,2022, that aims to improve the nutritional health of learner and reduce the number of undernourished students.

Activities for Supplemental feeding program were successfully conducted by the Feeding program Coordinator, TLE teacher, Alumni Adviser, and TLE head Teacher. The sponsors of feeding program are the Alumni of Subic National High School. The meals are prepared by the sponsors with the help of TLE teachers. During Feeding health care practices are also promoted.
